Jules Koundé's contract with Chelsea is being actively pursued by Barcelona, according to sources
According to the transfer guru himself, Fabrizio Romano, one of the most unpredictable tales of the summer transfer window has taken yet another unexpected turn as Barcelona are suddenly planning an official proposal to Sevilla to attempt to hijack their agreement with Chelsea for French center-back Jules Koundé.
According to several Spanish sources, Barça had given up on the pursuit of Koundé as of yesterday, but the Catalans appear to be back in the game and haven't yet thrown up the towel.

The writer Gerard Romero's assertions that Barça and Sevilla are extremely close to agreeing to a deal for Koundé gain further support from Fabrizio's report. Romero even asserted that Koundé is "99% a Barça player," and the Blaugrana made Sevilla a more enticing offer than Chelsea did.
It appears that Romano's statement that Barça's bid has a "different structure" supports Diario Sport's assertion that the Catalans will pay the entire transfer cost up front. The Blaugrana cannot match Chelsea's rumoured €65 million bid, according to Fabrizio, but the London club has simply proposed to pay the sum in instalments.
According to a number of reports, Koundé had always preferred to join Barça, but the time looked to be running out and the Blaugrana hadn't made an offer. Because of the recent changes, the ensuing few hours should be really fascinating.
