Oleksandr Zinchenko's transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal is reportedly being negotiated, according to The Attic.

This summer, the North London club signed Gabriel Jesus from the Premier League winners, and they are now working to sign his former teammate to the Emirates Stadium.

The two organisations are in communication over a prospective transfer, and it is thought that City would approve the sale of the 25-year-old if their valuation was satisfied.

However, discussions are still ongoing, and it is believed that Arsenal is prioritising Zinchenko after passing on Ajax's Lisandro Martinez.

Arsenal would be gaining a player that manager Mikel Arteta has been eager to reconcile with if an agreement can be reached with City on a fee and the Ukraine international over personal issues.

They were coworkers at the Etihad Stadium while Arteta served as Pep Guardiola's assistant, and they are rumoured to still be close.

Two years remain on Zinchenko's contract after he moved from FC Ufa in Russia in 2016.

Zinchenko has primarily been utilised at left-back by Guardiola, despite the fact that for his nation, he prefers to play in the middle of the field. His flexibility is sure to be appealing, even though Arsenal have been wanting to bolster that particular area of the field.

Zinchenko has achieved great success at City, winning the League Cup and the English Premier League four times each. He participated in the 2021 Champions League final and won one FA Cup.

Marc Cucurella of Brighton and Hove Albion is presently regarded to be the top left-back contender for City, who are in the market for a new player.
